Midsummer celebration

Greetings from Somero where I’m spending midsummer with my parents and my kids. Weather was really nice yesterday, but today it has been raining. I came here yesterday. I really enjoy driving a car since in Shanghai we had a driver. I love the highways when I can speed up and listen to music LOUD!

My parent’s house is a beautiful place. My mother is so creative how to do things and entire garden is full of nice little details. I’m nothing like my mom when it comes to decoration, cooking or handcrafts. She really is one talented person and I have no skills at all. Her style is more of Laura Ashley and country style while my style is more contemporary and modern. It’s always fun to go shopping with her because our taste is so different. My parents live in Somero which is a small town between Helsinki and Turku. One thing Somero is known for is farming and actually my parents live in the middle of the fields although they are not farmers. For kids this place is really good. It’s safe, quiet and close to nature. Kids really love to spend their time here and no wonder…Look at yourself.

Since the weather was very poor today I went into the summerhouse to read magazines and relax. I guess I fell asleep at some point… IMG_0361 Tomorrow I’m going back home to Vantaa and I  leave kids to my parents for one week. Happy midsummer! IMG_0310
